Vintage Pop! Needs your help!

Now moving full steam ahead into the second month of the podcast, it is now more important than ever, to try and grow the audience. To the current audience, I want to give a great thanks to. It is because of you, that I have the motivation to continue the show every week. With that being said, I would like to ask for your help, to continue the growth of the show. If you have not already, please take a few moments to leave us a review on wherever you get our show. The biggest help of all, would be to leave an iTunes rating and review. With enough ratings, iTunes will plug the show, and throw it into a wider audience. Below is the link you can use to access the iTunes page.

In addition, the word of mouth that has spread on the show also assists. Continue to do so, on Twitter and Facebook. Every little bit helps.

Again, thanks for all your support and I look forward to talking to you all again, on next week's program.

Stores from Yesterday

Do you have nostalgia for shopping malls, and stores that you used to go to growing up? This may apply to anyone, no matter what generation you grew up in. For me and my friends, the topic of 90's malls, stores, and other products are constantly talked about and remembered fondly. Since a show was just released, (last night/today) I wanted to share this link with you before I forgot. The following link is a post from NintendoAge that I came across. It shows stores that are no longer in business.

http://nintendoage.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=5&threadid=108517

This has quickly become a hot topic, since the recent Toys R Us announcement. Toys R Us plans to close all of its US locations letting go thousands of employees. This is quite upsetting as it is, but it has definitely brought conversations about the nostalgia that we have for retail at the forefront. Take a few moments to check out some of these pictures on the above link. You may have some fond memories of some of the ones you see.

As a side note, there may be plans to institute some talks about 90's nostalgia into future side shows a few times a month. Stay tuned!

Vintage Pop! Episode 4: Pioneers In Television Ernie Kovacs/Joe Franklin

Wow! I can't believe this episode will mark one full month of Vintage Pop! It is amazing how much time can fly by, once you get the ball rolling with something. It seems that we have a small but loyal listener group so far, which is greatly appreciated. Looking forward to continued growth and sharing my stories with you. Spread the word, and together we can build a great platform to talk about some amazing topics. Big thanks for the continued support from family and friends.

This week, we will be talking about two pioneers of television in their own rights. We lead off first, with Ernie Kovacs, a pioneer of comedic television. We will discuss his career as well as The Ernie Kovacs Collection, that has been released by Shout Factory. On the other end of the show, we will discuss a pioneer of the talk show format, Joe Franklin. We will discuss Joe's career as well as his impact on the New York television scene, where he spent over 35 years of his career. As always, we will end the program with some upcoming events.
