Vintage Pop! Episode 3: 80's Potluck 1 (The Legend of Billie Jean/CED Videodisc)

I can't believe we are now already at our third episode of Vintage Pop! This next episode we try something a little new, with our 80's Potluck episode. It is a little bit of everything, as we cover the 1985 film, The Legend of Billie Jean. It is an underrated classic definitely worth checking out. To fill out the card for the evening, we will also talk about the CED video format that was short lived in the 1980's. Finally we'll sum up the Secret Cinema event that took place this last weekend, and preview some upcoming events in the area!

Vintage Pop! Episode 2: Joie Chitwood/Evel Knievel and Viva Knievel! (1977) Review

Vintage Pop! is back, with another great episode. Greg reads some listener mail from Dan, and talks about some new developments with the blog page and twitter. Greg then talks about Joie Chitwood and the history of his thrill show. This leads to a talk about Evel Knievel and his 1977 film Viva Knievel!, starring Evel Knievel, Gene Kelly, and Lauren Hutton. We close the show with some upcoming events as well as some new development in the 16mm film collection.

—Thanks to everyone that has downloaded and listened to the first program. As of this release, our first episode has 39 downloads! That may seem small, but I am impressed and flattered by the kind words of friends and acquaintances that have listed to the show. Please subscribe on iTunes and leave the show a short review, every little bit helps. Also, if you can think of it, please use our Amazon search bar on the blog page for your shopping needs!

Taking Care of Business

As we get the ball rolling with content production, you may notice a few new things on the site. For one.. We now have an Amazon Search Bar! Please use this bar for all of your shopping needs whenever possible. It would be nice to buy a piece of candy here or there with the money. Also, we are now on Podbean and currently in the process of getting on Stitcher. It is my hope, that the more locations we are, the more listeners can join in to the conversation. As always, email with any thoughts!

Welcome to the first episode of Vintage Pop! In this episode we get all the nerves out of the way. I hope you stick around for a journey into all things vintage. For the first show, there is a bit of a sampler. I talk about the 1975 film, Three Days of The Condor. Later, we talk about the Barbra Streisand and Barry Gibb album, Guilty(1980). There are some great advertisements and retro fun along the way!
